The Corner – Where the Home is

The CornerIt’s been said that “home is where the heart is”. In a small part of the home, The Corner focuses on the peace that comes from the gentle reassurance a soft answer brings in turning away wrath. A point worth considering in a world in which harsh words run rife in stirring up anger.

Where the Home is

From the moment I rise to face another day
Caught up in the rigours of life in the world and its way
Facing the issues that confront, that offend, that upset
that harass, that torment, that persecute
that cause heartache, that tear up, that bring down
that undo, that unnerve, that unsettle
that frustrate, that drain, that humiliate
that tire, that exhaust, that torture
that anger, that infuriate, that destroy

From the moment I rise to face another day
I wait for that moment when I return to you
When you speak a gentle word that puts my mind at ease
When you soothe my unsettled heart and my focus returns
When you ease my pain and the day’s problems are but a memory
When you set yourself beside me and the day’s worries are left behind
When you settle my soul and the day’s issues are forgotten
When my fears are gone
When my troubles are faded
When my anxious thoughts are settled
When my soul is at peace

From the moment I rise to face another day
I wait for that moment when I see you and hear your voice
For it is then that I know that with you, I am home
