The Corner – Entangled Enjambment

The CornerEntangled with enjambment, The Corner was used to construct a concrete edifice to a strange phenomenon that is part of life. In nature, cougars hunt to survive. They stalk their prey before pouncing with unrelenting force, delighting in the meal for the day. It seems a similar practice is exhibited amongst the human variety of this animal.

Cougars & Kittens

                                 ware of
                         & kittens: While
one of them bites, with the other
you'll be smitten. With the lure
of their eyes you'll go weak
at the knees, as their claws
sink in you'll cry out "more
              please!" Though their lips drip
honey, their words are lies that
can only be seen through by those
who are wise. They go about their
ritual, it's the same each day. Each
one catches its prey in the same old
     way. Howsoever they might hook
you, you'll no doubt be on high! But
be very careful or else you too will die!

  1. Wow, this must have been a pernickety job. Did you use any special formatting tool? I believe kittens are superior to cougars, as they obviously rule the internet nowadays.

  2. Got to read it at last! You did well with the formatting, can see that kitty in the poem’s image. Great comparison… does eLFy speak from experience?
